The watch trade already had its group chats — what it never had was a way to know who was in them.
Mazall moves high-value watches between traders, dealers and collectors — a market that historically ran on group chats and reputation. The platform keeps the group-chat culture and adds what it always lacked: verified identity, compliance screening, professional invoicing, payments and insured shipping. The problem domain
Professional watch trading runs on WhatsApp, Telegram and WeChat groups. It works, in the sense that deals happen — but every safeguard in it is social. You trade with someone because a dealer you know vouches for them, and when a six-figure transaction goes wrong there is no record, no recourse and frequently no verified identity behind the handle.
The obvious fix — replace the group chats with a formal marketplace — is the one that fails, because the chats are where the liquidity lives. The harder brief is to keep the format traders already use and move the trust underneath it, so the experience still feels like a group chat while identity, compliance, payment and shipping are all real.
How the platform answers it

Members can import their existing groups from Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram and WeChat, sync their phone book, and run public or invitation-only rooms — but everyone in them has passed the same gate: account creation, government-issued ID, business documentation where applicable, a selfie liveness check, then OFAC and AML screening. Mazall's phrase for it is verified members only, real people rather than anonymous profiles.
