The age span every screen has to work for
The hard part is not the first ten minutes — it is the eighty-fourth.
Moonrise treats pelvic-floor dysfunction with a structured online program rather than a clinic visit — daily live classes, personal coaching, and a member journey that runs for fifteen months. Software is the clinic: if the platform doesn't hold, neither does the therapy. We built it.
The problem
A long-format health program lives or dies on retention, and retention is a product problem before it is a clinical one. Moonrise asks for ten minutes a day for twelve weeks — a small ask on day one and a hard one on day sixty. Nothing about the therapy changes on day sixty; what changes is whether the software is still easy enough to open. That is the whole engineering brief.
And it has to be that easy for everyone. Moonrise's members range from their twenties to their nineties — their site describes a 93-year-old member — which means the platform cannot lean on app-store fluency, gesture conventions, or a recent phone. The least technical member on the least capable device sets the bar, and that is a stricter usability standard than most consumer software is ever held to.
What we built
- Delivery of a structured multi-month program — a 12-week daily intensive followed by a year of maintenance support.
- Live class delivery and scheduling as the daily heartbeat of the product.
- Personal 1-on-1 coaching alongside the group program, from the kickoff call onward.
- Weekly workshops and Q&A sessions, plus the community members are held accountable by.
Designing for the eighty-fourth day
Two structural decisions follow from the retention problem. The first is that the daily session has to be the shortest path in the product — not a destination the member navigates to, but the thing the platform opens on. Every screen between a member and today's ten minutes is a screen that costs adherence somewhere around week eight.
The second is that the fifteen-month shape has to be legible from inside it. A member three weeks into a twelve-week intensive needs to see that as progress rather than as an open-ended commitment, and a member who has moved into the maintenance year needs the product to feel different from the intensive rather than simply quieter. The programme's structure is the information architecture.
Outcome
The program runs live today with members across age groups from the twenties to the nineties, and Moonrise reports a 4.9/5 rating across more than 200 Trustpilot reviews.
